We looked wholistically at the aesthetic strategy for the downtown district to establishing an appropriate material, color, awning, lighting, signage and furnishing palette that could be used as a kit of parts to inform all other future developments in this area and ensure site wide cohesiveness and identity with enough flexibility for individualization. We also studied ways to connect spaces and encourage the longevity and vitality of the downtown area. We then documented these findings through an illustrative site plan to encourage a vision for the city as they work towards the revitalization and success of this area. We then were able to focus in on three prominent yet underutilized buildings within the downtown district to re-envision. These buildings were submitted for permit to the city of Auburn.
