In this FORAGING TOUR, I'll teach you to identify and use 15 edible and medicinal southeastern plants, including chickweed, comfrey, dock, and many many more. Sessions are 2.5 hours long with intimate group sizes of sixteen people maximum to promote a personal learning experience. Enjoy a WILD EDIBLES PICNIC featuring three seasonal dishes and four herbal teas of plants discussed during the tour. All foods and teas are sourced from certified food retailers and cater to vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and paleo diets for your tasting pleasure. Explore the historic and scenic LAKE CLAIRE COMMUNITY LAND TRUST. Feed the chickens and ducks. Experience the very special land trust model as a means of preserving community greenspace for future generations. Parking: You can park freely along Nelms Ave or Arizona Ave or any of the adjacent residential streets. You can also walk to the meeting location from the Edgewood MARTA station by walking down Dekalb Ave. Useful Items: Long Sleeves/ Pants, Closed Toe Shoes, Water, Notebook/Pencil, Sun protection, Bug repellent Weather Policy: If there is a storm or other natural disaster, we will cancel class and I will send a refund. Cancellation Policy: If you can’t attend the event, please get in touch as soon as possible. I am happy to offer a full refund if you cancel 7 days in advance. Otherwise, I will offer a 50% refund of the total ticket price with 24 hour cancellation notice and 0% refund for anything less than 24hrs.
